A Pinch of VAULT provides early and mid-career artists with a vital opportunity to showcase work that is currently in development in front of a live audience with tickets from just £6.50. Shows will be at varying stages of development, including scratches, rehearsed readings with script in hand, first time on its feet, or semi-staged productions. Usually taking place in the summer months, this year’s edition of the A Pinch of VAULT  is taking place in February and March, filling some of the void left by the absence of VAULT Festival, which will return later this year in its new home.

On sale from today, this year’s programme of Theatre & Performance as part of A Pinch of VAULT showcases new shows from a wide array of artists and genres, including new writing, devised theatre, cabaret, drag, music, and physical theatre.

The programme includes work from a vast range of perspectives and a wide variety of themes. Witchcraft features in Devil Play, Mud in a Pond, and Lancashire Witches; while Eggs Aren’t That Easy to Make, Chickpeas, and Led by the Wind all contain sapphic narratives. Chambers of the Heart and The Good Iranian present audiences with Middle Eastern perspectives while Anansi and Other Such Stories and Last Goal Wins offer stories from African perspectives, Ghanaian and Nigerian respectively. Queer migrant stories also feature in the programme, with Copla Cabaret and Led by the Wind; and Missfits, Cancer B*tch!, and I Am The Bomb all present themes of disability and illness.

Adèle Reeves de Melo, Producer & Programmer says:

“I’m thrilled about the programme for A Pinch of VAULT this year. The calibre of applications was extremely high, and this edition of the festival encompasses an even broader spectrum of topics, theories, forms, and genres than any in previous years. I’m continually inspired by the innovative approaches that A Pinch of VAULT artists take, using the platform to take risks, grow and refine their work.”

The entire programme features work from Abby Ferree, Abu B. Yillah, Adam Riches, Alex Urwin, Amelia Michaels, Andrea Holland, Arsalan Akhavan / Rug Entertainment, Blue Hour Productions, Bomb Factory Theatre Company CIC, Bullet Theatre, Catherine Li, Chenxing Liu, Cloudburst Productions Ltd, Cubicle Theatre, Cutpurse Theatre, Eleanor Crosswell, Elena Sirett, Ensemble Not Found, Fresh Lines Writers, Fur Coat No Knickers Theatre, Goldfinch Theatre Ltd, Hagseed Productions, Hannah Ali Khan, Hazel Askew, HisPanic Breakdown, Hitherto Theatre, Jenette Meehan, Jess Andrews, Jim Osman, Justice Ezi, Katie Pritchard, Kingfish Productions, Kwami Odoom, Larkey Kindred Productions, Laila Alj, Lewis Miles, Light Sweet Crude Productions, Mad Jacks Theatre, Mad, Who?, Marie Hamilton, Masha Kevinovna, Molly Anne Sweeney, Mollie Blue, Monica Cox, Nomadomedy Theatre, Pantano & Co, Raina Greifer and Holly Moberely, RJ Hunter, Rob Cattanach, Sam Hall, Shar Cooterie, Simeon Foss, Simone Watson-Brown, Simon Manyonda, Sirine Saba, Sloane Square Project, The Queens of Cups, Theodora van der Beek, Townshend & Teale, White Noise Theatre, Will Bishop, and WWWC.
