I Promise You That Tonight performed by Tom Cassani, and created by Tom Cassani and Peader Kirk is to open at Camden People’s Theatre.

Tom Cassani’s obsession with magic and illusion has led him to explore how and why we believe the things we do. In I Promise You That Tonight, Cassani exorcises both the sceptic and the believer, switching between showman and charlatan, Cassani sets fire to our fickle sense of truth.

An impossible box, an exploding wineglass, a drowning man, sand becoming glass, that voice from below and a barefoot man on broken glass.

Some of these things are real and some of these things are fake but all of them are happening…tonight.

Risking actual injury from a stage covered in broken glass and fragmented truths, Cassani performs feats with real blowtorches, incantatory texts and sleight of hand to set fire to our fickle sense of truth.

Direction and dramaturgy come courtesy of multifaceted artist and director Peader Kirk. Together they have created an experience that smashes together a myriad of intriguing imagery and illusory text.

I Promise You That Tonight runs Thursday 11, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 November at Camden People’s Theatre. Book tickets via www.cptheatre.co.uk
