The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced the London premiere of Fourteen Again, the new musical featuring the songs of Victoria Wood and a book by Tom MacRae.

Following a critically acclaimed run at the newly renamed Victoria Wood Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere earlier this year, the production will open at the Menier on 2 December 2026, with previews from 21 November, and run until 27 February 2027.

Ria Jones and Sally Ann Triplett will reprise their roles as Lou and Peggy, reuniting after both performers’ previous connections with Wood’s work. Full casting for the production will be announced at a later date.

The musical was commissioned to mark the renaming of the former Old Laundry Theatre as the Victoria Wood Theatre, ten years after the celebrated writer and performer’s death. The venue was renamed by producer Charlotte Scott and designer Roger Glossop, longtime friends and collaborators of Wood.

To celebrate her life and work, Tom MacRae, best known for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, was commissioned to create a brand-new musical using Wood’s much-loved songbook.

Fourteen Again begins at a local slimming club, where former school friends Peggy and Lou are reunited for the first time since their teenage years. As they reflect on the past, a story of friendship, laughter, love and regret unfolds through Victoria Wood’s songs.

Jonathan O’Boyle directs the production, with Nigel Lilley as musical supervisor, arranger and co-orchestrator, Sammy Murray as choreographer, Roger Glossop as set designer, Caroline Hughes as costume designer, Jason Taylor as lighting designer, Sam Glossop as sound designer, Archie McMorran as musical director and co-orchestrator, and Caroline Dalton as associate designer.

The Menier Chocolate Factory has opened priority booking for supporters, with public booking set to open on 9 September.
