Eric Kuhn Productions has announced that Amplify Pictures has joined the producing team of Invasive Species, Maia Novi’s semi-autobiographical dark comedy, ahead of its London premiere at King’s Head Theatre.

Amplify Pictures, led by CEO Joe Lewis—best known for producing Fleabag, Transparent, and HBO’s 100 Foot Wave—joins a powerhouse team of producers including Eric Kuhn, Adam Rodner, Lucy Moss (SIX), Salem Productions, John Voege, Amauta M. Firmino, and María Inés Olmedo Projects.

The collaboration marks another step in Amplify Pictures’ expansion into live theatre, following their recent co-productions of Gutenberg! The Musical! and Dilaria. Joe Lewis previously co-produced the Tony Award-winning A Strange Loop with Kuhn.

Invasive Species opens at King’s Head Theatre on 5 September 2025, with previews from 3 September, and runs until 3 October. The play had a critically acclaimed run at The Vineyard’s Dimson Theatre in New York, where it was praised for its exploration of immigration, identity politics, and mental health.

Directed by Pulitzer Prize finalist Michael Breslin, the London production sees Maia Novi reprise her lead role. She is joined by Harrison Osterfield (The Irregulars), Ella Blackburn, Max Percy, and Kalifa Taylor.

Joe Lewis said:

“Invasive Species is fearless, hilarious, and beautifully risky, and exactly the kind of bold new work Amplify wants to champion in live entertainment. We’re honored to help bring Maia Novi’s play to London and to once again partner with our longtime collaborator Eric Kuhn on another remarkable production.”

Eric Kuhn added:

“We are thrilled to have Joe and Amplify Pictures as new co-producers on Invasive Species. Joe has a long history of having a pulse on culture and finding new talent, so it is no surprise he is attracted to this play, and to Maia’s work.”

Invasive Species is a darkly comic true story about Maia, an immigrant actor who will stop at nothing to achieve her dream of stardom—even if it means acting her way out of a youth psychiatric ward.
