Choir Boys Productions will bring An Adequate Abridgement of Boarding School Life as a Homo back to the stage this spring, with a major UK tour beginning 14 April and a two‑week run at Riverside Studios from 27 April to 10 May 2026.

The show, known as Homo, follows gay student Johnny as he navigates his final year at an all‑boys boarding school.
Written by Ned Blackburn and directed by Josh Stainer and Meg Bowron, the production returns after acclaimed, award‑winning runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and Theatre503.

The play was praised at the Fringe with five‑star reviews from Broadway World and A Young‑ish Perspective, alongside four‑star acclaim from Culture Fix and The Stage.
The Riverside Studios engagement also forms part of the venue’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Ned Blackburn said, “I am extremely thrilled that we get to bring Homo back to London and UK audiences this year. We formed this company as ambitious university students and could have not imagined the overwhelming reception we have received from audiences across the UK and at the Fringe. Almost two years after its debut, I hope the play still serves as a reminder that amidst the camp and the comic of gay narratives there is a heart that breaks and bleeds like all the rest.”

Director Josh Stainer added, “This tour is a major milestone for Choir Boys Productions. We are so proud to be presenting Homo in some of this country’s most valued regional theatres and arts centres. The support of venues such as Riverside Studios is integral to our survival and growth as an emerging theatre company. Ned Blackburn’s play is so boldly resonant: our audiences are continuing to grow. If our work so far has taught us one thing, it’s that UK theatregoers love and nurture gay narratives; they aren’t going anywhere. We can’t wait to continue to present this play to audiences around the country.”
