The Holly King & The Oak King

The Holly King & The Oak King

The world premiere of The Holly King & The Oak King, a festive trail for families arrives at BAC this December in collaboration with Wild Rumpus.

What if our wishes came true, and it was actually Christmas every day?

The Holly King, ruler of winter, snow and darkness and the Oak King, leader of summer, warmth and light go to battle twice a year to fight for which season will reign supreme. One particularly long winter, the Holly King defeats the Oak King once and for all, plunging the world into bitter cold and darkness. Can the Oak King pick himself up and restore balance to the seasons, or will the world be stuck in a deep freeze forever?

Based on the old Celtic folktale, The Holly King and The Oak King is a brand-new festive experience at Battersea Arts Centre that will take you on a magical journey across the seasons, exploring the balance of nature and the elements in our ever-changing world.

This enchanting theatrical trail for all the family is in collaboration with Wild Rumpus, an award-winning immersive events company that focus on nature connectedness, collective wonder and the power of play.
