South-West based theatre company Black Hound Productions is set to enchant audiences this Christmas at the Cheltenham Everyman’s Irving Studio with two festive performances: The Elves and the Shoemaker (for ages 3-7) and Sherlock Holmes and a Christmas Mystery (ages 14+) under the direction of Artistic Director, Patrick Withey.
Withey says, ‘I’m thrilled to be writing and directing two festive performances with a stellar cast at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre this Christmas, bringing a fresh perspective to two well-loved tales. With a female Sherlock and Watson duo, loveable puppets and more, Black Hound Productions is shaking up classic tales for audiences in the South-West.
‘As an advocate for new writing, I am delighted to have two original pieces platformed at The Everyman. Theatre and storytelling is a festive tradition I have always held close to my heart, and I am delighted to play a part in allowing more children and families the opportunity to engage in theatre. The countdown to Christmas is in full swing’.
