Bill Kenwright’s acclaimed production of Blood Brothers will return to UK stages this autumn, opening at Milton Keynes Theatre on 27 August 2025.
The multi award-winning musical, written by Willy Russell, continues to captivate audiences with its powerful storytelling and unforgettable score.
Vivienne Carlyle reprises her role as Mrs. Johnstone, a performance that has earned her nightly standing ovations and widespread acclaim.
Sean Jones and Joe Sleight return as Mickey and Eddie, the twin brothers at the heart of the story, with Gemma Brodrick once again playing Linda.
Kristofer Harding rejoins the cast as the Narrator, alongside Paula Tappenden as Mrs. Lyons and Danny Knott as Perkins.
New to the cast for the Autumn 2025 tour are Michael Gillett as Sammy, Francesca Benton-Stace as Donna Marie/Miss Jones, and Latesha Karisa as Brenda.
Also continuing with the tour are Tim Churchill (Mr. Lyons), Dominic Gore (Neighbour), Alex Harland (Policeman/Teacher), and Graeme Kinniburgh (Postman/Bus Conductor).
Written by award-winning playwright Willy Russell, Blood Brothers has been described as “one of the best musicals ever written” (Sunday Times).
The production has surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End and has toured internationally to great acclaim, earning the nickname “the Standing Ovation Musical.”
The musical began life as a school play in Liverpool in 1981 before opening at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1983. It recently returned to the city for a record-breaking run at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.
The score features iconic numbers including Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe, and the emotionally charged Tell Me It’s Not True.
Blood Brothers tells the moving tale of twins separated at birth who grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with tragic consequences.
Willy Russell’s other celebrated works include Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine, both of which have enjoyed successful stage and screen adaptations.
