27 brand new shows from some of the UK’s most exciting emerging theatre companies are set to hit the King’s Head Theatre this July for Playmill; a two-week curated season featuring drama, comedy, storytelling and musical theatre. Featuring world premieres alongside transfers from the UK’s biggest arts festivals, this year’s season will build upon the success of the previous four years, which have collectively been seen by over 10,000 people.

Highlight’s include disabled theatre collective Bareface’s Charlie Hartell nominated comedy, Fix Us, the return of Nazish Khan (Deadly Dialogues) with Dilution, a powerful new exploration of extremism, Brendan Murphy’s (Potter Potter, The Crown Dual) ten seasons run through of the world’s most popular sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D. and a satirical swipe at London living conditions in The Good Landlord from Metamorph Theatre.

Artistic Director of the King’s Head Theatre, Adam Spreadbury-Maher, says ‘Playmill is a vital part of our programme, which reflects and embodies our commitment to championing emerging theatre makers. We believe passionately in the importance of providing a platform for emerging artists to develop their craft and perform within a professional context. I can’t wait for audiences to see the sheer range of brilliant shows in our boldest, most diverse season yet.’
