Cameron Mackintosh has announced that Anna Zavelson will play Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre.
Zavelson will appear in the production for 11 weeks only, from Monday 18 May 2026 until Saturday 1 August 2026, as the musical enters its 40th year in the West End.
Anna Zavelson previously played Christine Daaé in Masquerade, the immersive adaptation of Phantom of the Opera in New York. Her other theatre credits include her Broadway debut as Younger Allie in The Notebook, as well as Chinese Republicans and Light in the Piazza.
She will perform alongside Dean Chisnall as The Phantom and Ashley Gilmour as Raoul. The cast also includes Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry, Bradyn Debysingh as Ubaldo Piangi and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry.
At certain performances, the role of Christine Daaé will be played by Colleen Rose Curran. The production is completed by a large ensemble cast.
Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera is regarded as one of the most celebrated musicals of all time. Since opening in 1986, it has played to more than 160 million people across 217 cities and 23 languages.
Featuring a score that includes The Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again and Masquerade, the musical tells the story of a gifted young soprano drawn into a dangerous love triangle beneath the Paris Opera House.
