Olivier Award-winning West End star Cassidy Janson will star as Tess Richarde in the West End production of Burlesque the Musical.
The show returns to London this September following a sold-out, critically acclaimed run at the Savoy Theatre, and will open at the new venue The Arts at Marble Arch.
Based on Steven Antin’s Golden Globe-winning film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, Burlesque the Musical promises powerhouse vocals, striking choreography, and high glamour.
Cassidy Janson said: “I am beyond excited to be joining Burlesque – and in a brand-new West End theatre no less! The songs are huge, the glamour is off the charts, and the costumes are absolutely INSANE Honestly? The West End is not ready for this level of fabulous.”
Writer and producer Steven Antin added: “As played by the legendary Cher, Tess became an iconic character. We are thrilled to have Cassidy lead the West End company in this pivotal role. She’s glamorous, funny, fierce, wildly talented – and she has the sass and heart that make Tess unforgettable.”
Performances begin on Saturday 12 September 2026, with a gala press night on Wednesday 23 September, and the run continues until 31 January 2027.
Set in a seductive underground club, the musical follows Ali as she searches for her mother and is drawn into a world of ambition, temptation, and discovery, finding both her voice and a sense of belonging.
The score features songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall, and Steven Antin.
The production is produced by Christina Aguilera, Adam Paulden and Jason Haigh-Ellery, Steven Antin, Clint Culpepper, and In Fine Company, with further casting and creative team announcements to follow.
