The multi-award-winning Paddington The Musical has extended its West End run at the Savoy Theatre until 25 June 2028, with producers citing unprecedented demand for the critically acclaimed production.

The booking extension comes as the musical prepares to celebrate its first birthday in the West End and welcomes a new cast to the production.

Since opening, Paddington The Musical has become one of the biggest theatrical success stories of recent years, winning seven Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, as well as nine WhatsOnStage Awards and the Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Musical.

The production’s Olivier Award wins included Best Director for Luke Sheppard, Best Set Design for Tom Pye and Ash J Woodward, and Best Costume Design for Gabriella Slade and Tahra Zafar, whose work brought the beloved bear to life on stage.

The musical’s success is set to continue internationally, with a Broadway production scheduled to open at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in March 2027, followed by a Sydney production at the Capitol Theatre in September 2027.

Featuring music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale and direction by Luke Sheppard, the show is based on Michael Bond’s beloved A Bear Called Paddington and inspired by STUDIOCANAL’s award-winning film adaptation.

The musical follows a small bear from Peru who arrives in London searching for a new home. After being taken in by the Brown family, Paddington discovers that life in the capital is not always as welcoming as it seems, particularly when a mysterious villain threatens to tear apart his newfound world.

The current cast includes Samantha Bingley, Tarinn Callender, Alex Crandon, Linzi Hateley, Cassidy Janson, Teddy Kempner, Sonny Monaghan, Sandra Marvin, Haydn Oakley, Marc Pickering, Abbie Purvis, Hassan Taj and Charlotte Wakefield.

Packed with original songs, spectacular choreography and plenty of marmalade-fuelled adventure, Paddington The Musical continues to delight audiences of all ages and remains one of the hottest tickets in the West End, with best availability now from summer 2027.
