Site-specific theatre company Lost Text/Found Space will present a new production of Far Away by Caryl Churchill this August at Ambika P3, in collaboration with the University of Westminster.
Marking 25 years since its debut at the Royal Court Theatre, this immersive staging of Churchill’s modern classic runs from 5 to 23 August 2025, with a press night on 6 August.
Directed by Rebecca McCutcheon, Far Away explores a world where war has spread to every corner of life—including the natural world. The production is part of Camden Fringe and will be the first theatre performance staged in the unique Ambika P3 space.
Joan can’t sleep. She hears screaming outside. Her auntie Harper says it’s an owl, but she’s not sure. She thought she saw her uncle in the distance, wielding an iron bar.
Years later, the screaming hasn’t stopped. The whole world is at war, the animals and birds too. They say the crocodiles are always in the wrong, that deer terrorise shopping malls, and that all the wasps have to go.
But the deer have been with Joan and Harper for weeks, their goodness shining through their soft brown eyes. So what then is the truth?
The cast features Lorna Dale as Joan, Samuel Gosrani as Todd, and Lizzie Hopley as Harper.
The creative team includes Nicola Hewitt (Set and Costume Design), Lucy Harrison (Composition & Sound Design), Jack Hathaway (Lighting), and Siobhan Bauer (Associate Producer).
Rebecca McCutcheon, director and founding member of Lost Text/Found Space, said:
“There can be few more aptly named theatre companies than Lost Text/Found Space.”
Ambika P3, described by The Guardian as “one of the capital’s hidden and most exciting new spaces,” is a former concrete construction hall transformed into a venue for contemporary art and performance.
