An exceptional cast has been announced for the world premiere of Possum Trot, the latest play from award-winning American playwright Kathy Rucker.
Running from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 29th November 2025 at Theatre At The Tabard, Possum Trot explores the struggles of a small Nebraskan town battling agricultural giants, climate disasters, and the loss of its youth to the cities.
Leading the cast is Sarah Berger (Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell, Call The Midwife) as Maxine, the determined owner of the town’s diner. She is joined by Todd Boyce (Coronation Street, The Crown) as Duane, a kind-hearted widower.
Dani Arlington (Prima Facie, Tiny Beautiful Things) plays Prudence, Maxine’s daughter, alongside Nikolas Salmon (The Totalitarians, Into Battle) as Jeremiah, Prudence’s husband. Neve Francis (Living Dying Dead) completes the cast as Billie, their daughter.
Writer Kathy Rucker said, “I couldn’t be more delighted (and humbled) to have this extraordinary cast breathing life into Possum Trot. They don’t just perform the play—they inhabit it.”
Directed by Scott Le Crass (Rose, Cut The Crap), the production promises a poignant yet humorous look at rural resilience and community spirit.
The creative team includes producers Kevin Nolan and Réka Sztrinkó, designer Reuben Speed, lighting designer Joseph Bryant, and sound designer Hannah Bracegirdle.
