Producers David Ian for Crossroads Live, in association with Barry and Fran Weissler, have announced a major 2027 UK and Ireland tour of Chicago.

The tour will open at New Wimbledon Theatre on 5 February 2027, with further casting and additional dates to be revealed.

Set in the decadence of the 1920s, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her lover and attempts to manipulate the media and public to escape conviction.

The musical features a celebrated score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, including “Razzle Dazzle”, “Cell Block Tango” and “All That Jazz”.

With choreography in the style of Bob Fosse, the production remains one of the most iconic musicals in theatre history.

Chicago has won six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, and is the longest-running American musical in both Broadway and West End history.

Since its 1996 Broadway revival, the show has been performed in 38 countries, seen by more than 35 million people worldwide and played over 36,000 performances.

The initial tour schedule includes stops in Plymouth, Cardiff, Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, Birmingham and Edinburgh, among many others.

Tickets for the opening dates go on sale from June 2026, with more venues and booking details to be announced.
