Based on the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Rebecca Cobb, The Paper Dolls comes to life on stage with stunning puppetry and original music, this hit show is a Polka Theatre and Little Angel Theatre’s co-production.

The Paper Dolls is adapted and directed by Peter Glanville in a revived co-production with Little Angel Theatre and will be on for a limited 4-week run.

The Paper Dolls is a lyrical tale from the award-winning author of The Gruffalo Julia Donaldson. Rosie makes a string of paper dolls with her Mum and takes them by the hand on a fantastical adventure. Whirling through the home and garden they fly through the air dodging the clutches of a toy dinosaur and a snapping oven-glove crocodile until they are confronted with some very sharp scissors!

The Paper Dolls is a touching tale exploring family bonds, sibling rivalry and the links between generations seen through a playful mother and daughter relationship.

Peter Glanville Polka’s Artistic Director says ‘Julia Donaldson’s The Paper Dolls is a celebration of children’s imagination and their conviction when transforming objects into characters and stories. It has been a pleasure to adapt this story into a production for Polka, using beautiful puppets and gentle evocative music. We are delighted to be reviving this show for a Christmas run at New Wimbledon Studio Theatre’.
