Little Angel Theatre has announced its 2026 Autumn/Winter season as the celebrated Islington venue continues marking its 65th anniversary year with a programme of new productions, returning favourites, UK tours and international performances.
Leading the season is the world premiere of Pip and Posy Live on Stage, running at Little Angel Theatre from 19 September to 22 November 2026 before embarking on a UK tour. Inspired by the BAFTA-nominated animated series and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture books, the production is written and directed by Little Angel Theatre Artistic Director Samantha Lane, with music and lyrics by Barb Jungr.
The season also includes The Pied Piper: A Rat’s Tale at Little Angel Studios from 12 September to 7 November 2026. Created by Indefinite Articles in association with Little Angel Theatre, the family production offers a fresh take on the classic tale through puppetry, storytelling and original music.
Over the festive period, audiences can enjoy the return of Scruff’s Christmas Adventure at Little Angel Theatre from 28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. The interactive family show will also tour schools and community spaces.
Meanwhile, The Snowflake, based on Benji Davies’ beloved Christmas story, returns to Little Angel Studios from 21 November 2026 to 23 January 2027, bringing puppetry and music to a heartwarming seasonal tale.
Beyond its London home, Little Angel Theatre will continue touring Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape, a musical adaptation of Dermot O’Leary’s bestselling children’s book. The production tours venues across the UK until 1 November 2026.
The company’s international reach will also be on display as its acclaimed adaptation of Handa’s Surprise travels to Sydney Opera House from 28 September to 2 October as part of the Wild Things International Kids Festival.
As part of the theatre’s anniversary celebrations, Little Angel Theatre will host All Strings Attached: Marionettes and the Work of Keeping a Craft Alive on 23 August. The panel discussion will bring together members of the puppetry community to celebrate the artform and explore plans to safeguard the future of marionette making, alongside a screening of the short documentary film Untangling.
Introducing the season, Artistic Director Samantha Lane and Executive Director Peta Swindall said: “This season, continuing our 65th anniversary celebrations, is a celebration of stories that bring people together. Alongside brand-new productions, beloved family favourites and exciting collaborations, we’re continuing our commitment to creating ambitious theatre that sparks imagination, nurtures creativity and places puppetry at the heart of unforgettable experiences for children and families. Whether audiences join us in Islington, meet us on tour or discover our work internationally, we hope this season inspires curiosity, laughter and a lifelong love of theatre.”
The season also includes festive productions The Pixie and the Christmas Pudding at The Old Town Hall and The Smartest Giant in Town at St Martin’s Theatre, alongside family workshops and October half-term Playcation activities designed to encourage creativity through puppetry.
