The Corn Exchange Newbury has announced its Autumn 2025 season, promising a vibrant mix of theatre, music, comedy, dance, and family entertainment.
Running from 28 August 2025 to 3 January 2026, the season kicks off with Shamilton: The Improvised Hip-Hop Musical, fresh from a hit Edinburgh Fringe run. Audiences choose the historical figure, and the cast improvises the rest — plot, lyrics, and all.
Dance lovers can look forward to Story of One, Story of Many, a Kathak performance exploring migration and identity, and Hot House by Richard Chappell Dance, blending Indian classical music with garage beats.
Theatre highlights include Drum, set in 1960s London, and Stories From an Invisible Town, a solo show by Shôn Dale-Jones. The season also features Revenge: After The Levoyah, a chaotic Jewish comedy about a plot to kidnap Jeremy Corbyn.
Music tributes abound, with UK Pink Floyd Experience, Bootleg Eagles, The Dolly Show, and Some Guys Have All the Luck: The Rod Stewart Story among the standout acts. Step Into Christmas offers a festive musical celebration in November.
Comedy fans can enjoy The Comedy Network, Jenny Eclair: Jokes, Jokes, Jokes Live, Matt Richardson: Brash, Milton Jones: Ha!milton, and Suzi Ruffell: The Juggle.
Families are well catered for with The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, Stick Man, Horrible Histories: Gorgeous Georgians & Vile Victorians, and Dinosaurs Live!, developed with the Natural History Museum.
Talks include A Particularly Nasty Case: A Murderously Funny Evening with Adam Kay and An Evening with Adam Frost, while An Audience with Clare Balding supports the Old Library Campaign.
Outdoor events return with Creative Commons on Greenham Common and the magical Festival of Light in December.
The season culminates in the in-house pantomime Robin Hood and Maid Marian, written and directed by Plested Brown and Wilsher. Expect nostalgic songs, dazzling costumes, and non-stop laughs.
Corn Exchange Director Jessica Jhundoo-Evans said, “This season is incredibly exciting! I’m very proud that the Corn Exchange continues to offer a hugely varied and diverse programme of events, supporting all genres of arts, indoors and outdoors and with so much to tempt all interests. After a bumper year of over 250 live performances, we can’t wait to end 2025 with our fantastic pantomime, Robin Hood and Maid Marian. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from near and far.”
