A specially filmed version of Bellringers, Daisy Hall’s comic and deeply moving hit play which recently concluded a critically lauded run at Hampstead Theatre’s Downstairs, will be released shortly on Original Theatre’s streaming platform Original Online.

Original Online Members, both new and existing, will receive an exclusive month of early access to watch Bellringers, starting from Friday 29 November at 5pm, before the film goes on general release (including rentals) from Friday 27 December at 5pm.

Bellringers is directed by Jessica Lazar (Sap, Edinburgh Fringe 2023; Anna Bella Eema, Arcola Theatre) and stars Paul Adeyefa (Good Omens, BBC Two) and Luke Rollason (Extraordinary, Disney+).

‘What do you want me to say? That the world’s ending? Would that be helpful?’ The mushrooms are encroaching, fish are falling from the sky, and in a bell tower Clement and Aspinall are waiting for lightning to strike. Superstition says that the ringing of church bells can dispel a storm. When the apocalypse is here, anything is worth a shot.

This Atticist, Ellie Keel Productions and Hampstead Theatre co-production arrives following a critically acclaimed run at Paines Plough’s Roundabout, Edinburgh Festival 2024, where it was chosen by the Evening Standard as one of ‘the best Edinburgh 2024 shows coming to London this year’. It was also a finalist for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting 2024.
