Dash Arts presents The Reckoning at the Arcola Theatre

Dash Arts presents the world premiere of The Reckoning, a powerful new play based on real stories from survivors of the Russian war in Ukraine.

Directed by Josephine Burton, The Reckoning will run from 29 May to 28 June 2025 at the Arcola Theatre in London, with press night on Wednesday 4 June at 7pm.

Written by Anastasiia Kosodii and Josephine Burton, the play is inspired by witness testimonies from The Reckoning Project’s verified archive. It follows a journalist meeting a man in a ruined village outside Kyiv, blending storytelling with movement, sound, and live food preparation on stage.

       

The cast includes Tom Godwin, Olga Safronova, and Simeon Kyslyi, with further casting to be announced.

After each performance, audiences can participate in “Food For Thought,” sharing Ukrainian cuisine prepared by chef Olia Hercules and hearing from expert speakers.

The Reckoning is supported by partners including The Reckoning Project, University of Cambridge, Public Interest Journalism Lab, Open Society Foundations, and Goethe-Institut.
