Following a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the acclaimed horror-comedy SUCCUBUS will transfer to The Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton this October for a limited run of 10 performances.
Presented by Halfway Productions, the one-woman show is the playwriting debut of Yorkshire-born award-winning burlesque performer Georgina Collins, also known as Strawberry Duvall.
Part horror, part comedy and packed with queer irreverence, stage gore and references to cult horror classics, SUCCUBUS began as Collins’ attempt to understand her own health after being told that severe physical and emotional symptoms were simply “hormones”.
The production follows a young woman whose unusual new symptom is an appetite for human flesh. As she attempts to find a path of ethical consumption in an increasingly unethical world, she discovers she may not be alone.
Described as “the one-woman horror comedy putting men on the menu”, the production explores themes of rage, bodily autonomy and feeling othered through a darkly comic lens.
The show arrives in London following a successful Edinburgh Fringe run at Underbelly Bristo Square, where it performed to sold-out audiences and attracted a string of five-star reviews.
Among the praise, Ed Fringe Review called it “One of Edinburgh’s most deliciously diabolical offerings at this year’s Fringe”.
SUCCUBUS is directed by Grainne Robson, with production design by Toby and Dan Silver and graphic design by Alex Christian.

It was so nice to hear from a range of people how they related to the show in their own way, especially younger women who’ve been going through PMDD or endometriosis symptoms, but also menopausal women and anyone who has felt othered by the rage and change in their bodies. The show is so fun and also… really creepy thanks to the incredible horror production of it all. I’m so excited to be bringing back this horny cannibal for spooky season at The Courtyard Theatre, and to be back with the SUCCUBUS team to hopefully resonate with even more people in London – just in time for halloween!”
The production will run on 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21 and 22 October, before a final performance on 28 October as part of The Courtyard Theatre’s Horror Festival.
