Mary Mac, one of Scotland’s most popular cabaret performers, is set to make her long-awaited Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with Hail Mary: The Tartan Songstress at Assembly George Square Studios this August.

Born and raised in Glasgow and trained at Glasgow Academy Musical Theatre Arts, Mary has built a reputation as one of the UK’s busiest and best-loved entertainers. Renowned for her powerful vocals, sharp sense of humour and natural rapport with audiences, she has performed everywhere from theatres and cabaret venues to cruise ships sailing across the globe.

Her career has taken her from entertaining audiences throughout the Caribbean and Europe to sharing the seas with television favourite Jane McDonald. Alongside her thriving cabaret work, Mary has also appeared in major musical theatre productions including La Cage Aux Folles at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and the UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. She has also supported RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio on tour across the UK and Europe.

Now, after years of captivating audiences worldwide, Mary is bringing her signature blend of powerhouse vocals, comedy, storytelling and high-energy entertainment to the Fringe for the very first time. Hail Mary: The Tartan Songstress promises an evening packed with laughs, music and the unmistakable charisma that has earned her a loyal following.

Following her Fringe run, Mary will appear as Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk at Theatre Royal Nottingham alongside Judge Rinder and Sam Womack.
