Comedy duo John Chisham and Christian Loveless bring their new musical comedy John and Christian: Teenage Heartthrobs to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, presenting a riotous tribute to noughties boyband culture at Greenside @ George Street.
Written and performed by the pair, the show imagines the reunion tour of a fictional early 2000s boyband, complete with original songs, nostalgic references and absurd humour. Promising a mix of satire and musical comedy, the production charts the band’s rise to fame, fall from grace and unexpected comeback.
Featuring tracks such as ‘Ooo Girl’ and ‘Monday Morning’, the show combines catchy tunes with tongue-in-cheek storytelling. Audiences can expect a playful exploration of pop nostalgia, as well as the duo’s trademark dry wit and surreal twists.
Chisham and Loveless first gained attention through their podcast Real Album Reviews, and have since built a reputation for inventive comedy both online and on stage. Their previous show Battle Counters! enjoyed a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe 2024, and this latest production continues their distinctive comedic style.
With praise highlighting their originality and humour, John and Christian: Teenage Heartthrobs promises an entertaining and energetic late-night show packed with music and laughs.
John and Christian: Teenage Heartthrobs runs at Greenside @ George Street from 24 – 29 August at 22:05. Tickets are on sale hereÂ
