Stockard Channing makes her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut as a director with Krapp’s Last Tape, Samuel Beckett’s classic one-man play, starring David Westhead.
Presented at Upstairs at The Roxy, the production centres on Krapp, a solitary figure reflecting on his life through a series of recorded memories. As he listens back to his younger self, past and present intertwine in a poignant meditation on time, regret and identity.
This staging brings together Channing and Westhead, two acclaimed performers whose long-standing collaboration adds a personal dimension to the production. Their shared history informs a nuanced and intimate interpretation of Beckett’s text.
The production also supports the Wembley to Soweto Foundation, with proceeds contributing to the charity’s work supporting young people through creative and educational initiatives.
Audiences will have the opportunity to engage further with the show through post-performance Q&A sessions on selected dates, offering insight into both the creative process and Beckett’s enduring work.
Krapp’s Last Tape runs at Upstairs at The Roxy from 05 – 30 August at 13:25. Tickets are on sale here
