Improvised whodunnit Murder, She Didn’t Write returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for its 12th year, bringing its signature blend of quick-thinking comedy and Agatha Christie-inspired chaos to Assembly George Square.

Performed by Degrees of Error, the show is entirely improvised each night, with one crucial twist: the audience becomes the author. At the start of every performance, an audience member selects the murderer, the victim and key details of the crime, setting the stage for a completely unique theatrical experience.

From outrageous scenarios to unexpected plot twists, the ensemble spins these suggestions into a fully realised murder mystery in real time. The result is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud production where no two shows are ever the same.

       

With a rotating cast including Lizzy Skrzypiec, Rachael Procter-Lane, Caitlin Campbell, Peter Baker and more, the company’s experience and chemistry ensures each improvised story lands with precision and humour. Whether the crime unfolds at a glamorous gala or a surreal reality TV showdown, the performers transform even the most absurd ideas into cohesive, entertaining narratives.

A long-time Fringe favourite, the show is also part of a wider UK tour, including dates in London’s West End, further cementing its reputation as a must-see comedy hit.
