QFWFQ makes its Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut at Summerhall, a bold and surreal solo performance by trans multidisciplinary artist Gregory Nussen, directed by actress and comedian Hannah Pilkes.
Following award-winning success at Hollywood Fringe, the production offers a labyrinthine exploration of identity, storytelling and politics. Loosely inspired by Italo Calvino’s If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller, the show unfolds as a fluid, unconventional narrative that challenges traditional theatrical structure.
Performed without a fourth wall, QFWFQ invites audiences into an unpredictable and deeply personal journey. The piece examines themes including gender, international relations and artistic expression, while exploring the transformative power of storytelling.
Developed over several years, the show reflects Nussen’s own experiences and creative evolution, shaped through collaboration with Pilkes. Together, they have crafted a work that blends sharp humour with emotional depth, pushing the boundaries of performance.
With its experimental structure and thought-provoking themes, QFWFQ promises a distinctive and immersive Fringe experience that invites audiences to actively engage with its narrative.
QFWFQ runs at Summerhall from 06 – 31 August at 11:40. Tickets are on sale hereÂ
