Edinburgh Fringe Review: Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett at Underbelly Circus Hub

Irresistibly colourful, loud and fun, Hotel Paradiso returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as an unmissable show for the whole family. Spectacular circus skills meet physical comedy, clowning and slapstick as we meet the charming staff of the quirkily ineffective Hotel Paradiso. This character-driven theatrical show is told with Lost in Translation’s trademark humour and a wowing mix of daring circus skills.

Lost in Translation are Guinness World Record Holders for the most swings on a Korean Cradle in a minute, a discipline very rarely seen in the UK. As one of the world’s leading contemporary circus companies, Lost in Translation have delighted audiences across the world, from Australia to Edinburgh. These experts in all things acrobatic and aerial bring the magic of circus performance together with compelling storytelling. From aerial hoop to juggling, trapeze, precarious balancing and much more, audiences will be amazed by incredible acrobatic feats integrated into the plot.

Hotel Paradiso follows the plot of a scheming banker determined to take over the family hotel. Madame and her staff introduce audiences to their beloved home just as their arch enemy sets his sights on the quaint hotel. Will the hotel survive such a dastardly plot? A talented cast of 6 daring acrobats bring this story to life, accompanied by an original music score by renowned Circus Musical Director Peter Reynolds. With thrills, gasps, laughs and plenty of drama, Hotel Paradiso will delight audiences young and old.
