From TheatreGoose, the team behind 2023’s award-nominated production Her Green Hell, comes Sisters Three – a brand-new play which investigates Chekov’s masterpiece, the idea of the lauded male playwright, and the three women within it – Olga, Masha and Irina.

Knowing each time they take the stage that things are going to turn out the same way – that they’re not going to get what they want – our sisters decide to investigate the trope they have been written into, looking for answers from Greek mythology to Macbeth’s Weird Sisters, to the Sugababes. Trapped in a cycle of disappointed hopes, heartbreak and inertia they try on a litany of female trios throughout literature, looking for a better outcome.

Harnessing the raucous energy of girlhood and the wildness of women on the brink, Sisters Three sets ablaze the construction of femininity drawn by men and the concept of creative male genius, to find hope in its ashes and revel in its weirdness.
