The full cast and creative team have been announced for BLISS, the new musical set to make its Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut this August.

Produced by Susan Edelstein Productions, ATG Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions, BLISS comes from the Olivier Award-winning producers behind Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The musical follows four sisters who escape their tower and find themselves in a world where fairy godfathers reign and happy endings come at a price. Described as a sharp and hilarious reimagining of the fairy tale genre, the production will play at Pleasance Courtyard throughout the Fringe.

Joining the previously announced cast is House of the Dragon and PhoneShop star Tom Bennett, who will play Glimmermore. He is joined by Akshara Gunda as Princess Piper and Misty May Tindall as Swing.

They join BAFTA-winning performer Miriam Nyarko as Princess Faye, Matilda Shapland as Princess Holly, and Alexandra Emmerson-Kirby as Princess Carmella.

Further casting includes Cameron Johnson as King, Kara Lane as Taffeta, Jordan Calloway as Prince Devin, and Ollie Augustin, Archie Durrant and Will Twiste sharing the role of Jester.

The company is completed by Alicia Belgarde, Maya De Faria, Ronalee Galhena, Millie Gubby, Ella McLaughlin and Ella Valentine as the Perfect Princesses.

Tom Bennett said, “I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Bliss! I cannot wait to look more fabulous than I have ever looked before and in the process earn huge “Dad Points”™️ from my 13 year old daughter! It’s my first time at the Edinburgh Fringe and I feel lucky that it’s with such a special show, character and wonderful creative team. I hope I can do Glimmermore the Diva justice he deserves! Who doesn’t love giving high camp frivolity with an undercurrent of actual “important message here”? Bring on the Bliss!”

Directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller, BLISS features a book, music and lyrics by Emma Lively and Tyler Beattie, with choreography by Olivier Award nominee Josh Prince.

The production also features set design by Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, sound design by Tony Gayle, music supervision by Nick Finlow and dramaturgy by Pippa Evans.

Running for 80 minutes, BLISS will feature a cast of 17 performers and promises a pop-rock score alongside a story about challenging expectations and embracing individuality.
