Pitlochry Festival Theatre has released the first production images for A History of Paper, the acclaimed Scottish musical by Oliver Emanuel and Gareth Williams, starring Alan Cumming and Shirley Henderson.
The newly released photographs, captured by Tommy Ga-Ken Wan, feature Alan Cumming, Shirley Henderson and pianist Gavin Whitworth in the moving musical currently running at Pitlochry Festival Theatre until 12 September.
A History of Paper tells the story of a relationship through the fragments of everyday life left behind on pieces of paper, from tickets and letters to menus and shopping lists.
The production serves as a tribute to the work of composer Gareth Williams and writer Oliver Emanuel, who died in 2023, and explores themes of love, memory and connection.
The musical forms part of Alan Cumming’s inaugural season as Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
Following its run in Pitlochry, the production will transfer to Dundee Rep Theatre from 16 to 19 September.
A History of Paper is presented by Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Dundee Rep Theatre. It is directed by Andrew Panton, with musical direction by Gavin Whitworth, design by Ana Inés Jabares Pita, lighting design by Bruno Poet and sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.
Starring Alan Cumming and Shirley Henderson, the production continues at Pitlochry Festival Theatre before its Dundee engagement later this autumn.
