First look images have been released for Les Liaisons Dangereuses, now playing at the National Theatre.
Directed by Marianne Elliott, the new production features a refreshed script of Christopher Hampton’s acclaimed adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ novel.
The production is staged in the Lyttelton theatre and runs until 6 June 2026, with a worldwide cinema broadcast via National Theatre Live from 25 June.
The newly released images, captured by photographer Sarah Lee, offer an early look at the cast in Elliott’s bold reinterpretation of the classic tale of love, manipulation and power.
The cast is led by Monica Barbaro, Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner, alongside Gabrielle Drake.
They are joined by Ishmail Aaron, Sharif Afifi, Curtis Angus, Charlotte Avery, Nandi Bhebhe, Lucia Chocarro, Liz Ewing, Ali Goldsmith, Darragh Hand, Georges Hann, Dianté Lodge, Katie Lusby, Amy Macken, Aisha Naamani, Bryony Pennington, Cat Simmons and Hannah van der Westhuysen.
Set among the glittering salons of the super-rich, Les Liaisons Dangereuses explores reputation, patriarchy and desire as weapons in a dangerous social game.
The artistic team includes set designer Rosanna Vize, costume designer Natalie Roar, choreographer Tom Jackson Greaves, composer Jasmin Kent Rodgman, lighting designer James Farncombe and sound designer Ian Dickinson for Autograph.
The production has its press night on Wednesday 1 April.
