Production images have been released for Polka Theatre’s new pop-up production of Maanika and the Wolf at Wimbledon’s Centre Court Shopping Centre, running until Sunday 29th August.

Bringing a cultural fusion to the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood this fantastical reimagining creates captivating storytelling for young audiences, rediscovering the tale from a new perspective. From Maanika’s house to the grandmother’s cottage and even into the wolf’s lair in the woods, the space transforms into a playful and enchanting setting, led by actor Ruchika Jain.

Created by Polka Theatre’s Artistic Director Peter Glanville with dramaturg Sudha Bhuchar, the production blends new music from British-Asian musician Arun Ghosh, with evocative set design by Sophia Lovell Smith allowing the Indian heritage embedded in Maanika’s upbringing to burst to life on stage.
