First look rehearsal photography has been released for the world premiere of the brand-new musical Fourteen Again at the Victoria Wood Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere.
The production will run from Friday 1 May to Saturday 6 June 2026, with a press night on Thursday 7 May, playing a strictly limited run of 36 performances.
The new musical features music and lyrics by Victoria Wood, with a book by Tom MacRae, and premieres in the newly named Victoria Wood Theatre, formerly The Old Laundry Theatre.
Ria Jones and Sally Ann Triplett star as best friends Lou and Peggy, marking a reunion with Victoria Wood’s work for both performers.
Sally Ann Triplett originated the role of Miss Berta in the original West End production of Acorn Antiques, while Ria Jones played Mrs Overall in the first national tour, directed by Victoria Wood.
They are joined in the cast by Michael Chance and Jayne Ashley.
Fourteen Again begins at a local Slimming Club, where Peggy is reunited with Lou, her best friend from school, whom she has not seen since they were teenagers.
As the two reconnect, the story unfolds with humour and emotion, exploring friendship, memory and second chances through Victoria Wood’s songs.
The creative team brings together long-time collaborators of Victoria Wood, led by director Jonathan O’Boyle.
The production is written by Tom MacRae, with choreography by Sammy Murray and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley.
Design comes from Roger Glossop for set, Jason Taylor for lighting, Caroline Hughes for costume and Sam Glossop for sound.
The production is produced by Charlotte Scott, co-owner of the theatre alongside Roger Glossop MBE, as part of the venue’s official renaming in honour of Victoria Wood on 19 May.
