The Donmar Warehouse has unveiled first look rehearsal images for the world premiere of Juniper Blood, a new play by Mike Bartlett, directed by James Macdonald.
The production opens on 16 August and runs until 4 October 2025, with a press night scheduled for Tuesday 26 August at 7pm.
Juniper Blood follows Lip and Ruth, who have left the city behind for a new life on a farm. Their quiet rural project is thrown into chaos when Ruth’s stepdaughter and her provocative best friend arrive, bringing conflicting visions of the future crashing into the present.
The cast includes Terique Jarrett, Hattie Morahan, Nadia Parkes, Jonathan Slinger and Sam Troughton.
“Dreams. You don’t compromise on those,” reads a line from the play, hinting at the emotional and ideological tensions at its core.
Directed by James Macdonald, the creative team includes designer ULTZ, associate set designer Mark Simmonds, lighting designer Jo Joelson, and sound designer Helen Skiera.
