Rehearsal images have been released for the upcoming UK and Ireland tour of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift, offering a first glimpse at the world premiere stage adaptation by Guy Unsworth.
Based on Caroline Graham’s novel The Killings at Badger’s Drift and the iconic ITV television series Midsomer Murders, the production is brought to the stage by Nicholson Green Productions and Colin Ingram Ltd.
The cast is led by Daniel Casey as Inspector Tom Barnaby and James Bradwell as Sergeant Gavin Troy. They are joined by a multi-roling ensemble including Nathalie Barclay, Chandrika Chevli, John Dougall, Julie Legrand, Rupert Sadler, Chris Agha and Rhîan Crowley-McLean.
The tour opens at Richmond Theatre on 24 October, with a national press night on Thursday 30 October. Due to popular demand, the tour has been extended through to June 2026.
The story begins when well-loved spinster Emily Simpson is found dead in the idyllic village of Badger’s Drift. Her friend Lucy Bellringer suspects foul play, prompting DCI Barnaby and Sergeant Troy to investigate a web of secrets and rivalries.
With eccentric villagers, shocking twists and a gripping reveal, The Killings at Badger’s Drift promises to be a classic whodunit that will keep audiences guessing.
The production is directed by Guy Unsworth, with design by David Woodhead, lighting by Matt Haskins, sound by Ella Wahlström, music by Max Pappenheim and casting by Ginny Schiller CDG.
