A Midsummer Night's Dream Rehearsals credit Manuel Harlan

Rehearsal images have been released for the highly anticipated return of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, opening at the Bridge Theatre on 31 May.

The immersive production, directed by Nicholas Hytner, was a major hit in 2019 and now returns for a limited summer run until 20 August, with opening night set for 5 June.

JJ Feild stars as Oberon/Theseus, alongside Susannah Fielding as Titania/Hippolyta. Emmanuel Akwafo takes on the role of Bottom, with David Moorst reprising his acclaimed performance as Puck/Philostrate.

       

The cast also includes Paul Adeyefa, Hilson Agbangbe, Bella Aubin, Jemima Brown, Nina Cassells, Kat Collings, Adam Cunis, Ali Goldsmith, Hollie Hales, Molly Hewitt-Richards, Felicity Montagu, Lennin Nelson-McClure, Jem Rose, Dominic Semwanga, Lily Simpkiss, Divesh Subaskaran and David Webber.

Returning from the original 2019 cast are David Moorst, Paul Adeyefa, Felicity Montagu, Lennin Nelson-McClure and Adam Cunis.

The creative team features Bunny Christie (production design), Christina Cunningham (costumes), Bruno Poet (lighting), Paul Arditti (sound), Grant Olding (music), and Arlene Phillips (movement). James Cousins joins as co-director and co-movement director, with Susanna Peretz as Hair & Makeup Designer.

The production’s immersive format allows 400 audience members to stand and move with the action, while 670 seated tickets wrap around the stage. The 2019 run welcomed over 100,000 audience members and was filmed by NTLive.

Standing tickets start at £35, with Young Bridge members able to book immersive tickets for £19.50. Schools and group rates are also available.
