Hope Mill Theatre has released first-look production images for Young Frankenstein The Musical, ahead of its regional premiere in Manchester.
The musical comedy stars Ore Oduba as Dr Frederick Frankenstein and opens at Hope Mill Theatre on 10 October 2025, with a press night on 15 October.
Directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, Young Frankenstein The Musical is adapted by Mel Brooks from his legendary 1974 film. The production promises a riotous blend of slapstick humour and theatrical flair.
Ore Oduba said:
“What a dream come true. Mel Brooks is a genius of comedy and Young Frankenstein is as iconic a title as it gets. I watched the most recent production in the West End through tears of laughter! Can’t wait to start ‘Putting on the Ritz’ with our talented cast, crew and creatives. And in such a renowned venue as the Hope Mill Theatre, it’s going to be an unforgettable 8 weeks in Manchester.”
Joining Oduba in the cast are Jessica Martin as Frau Blücher, Rhiannon Chesterman as Elizabeth Benning, Pete Gallagher as The Monster, Curtis Patrick as Igor, Simeon Truby as Inspector Hans Kemp/Harold the Hermit, and Julie Yammanee as Inga.
The ensemble includes Belle Kizzy Green, Robin Kent, Bryan Mottram, Alanna Panditaratne, Oliver Ramsdale, Hakeem Tinubu, Patricia Wilkins, and Jessica Wright.
The musical features classic numbers including The Transylvania Mania, He Vas My Boyfriend, and Puttin’ on the Ritz by Irving Berlin.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Hope Mill Theatre continues its tradition of producing high-quality musical theatre with Young Frankenstein The Musical.
