Sheffield Theatres has announced the full cast and creative team for its festive production of A Christmas Carol, running at the Crucible Theatre from Saturday 29 November 2025 to Saturday 10 January 2026.

This new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ timeless tale is written by Aisha Khan and directed by Elin Schofield, with Alex Pritchett as Associate Director.

Aaron Anthony (The Motive and the Cue) returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Fred, Edward and other roles. Kimberly Blake (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) will take on Mrs Cratchit, Young Ebenezer’s Mother, Laundress and more.

Lucy Brindle (The Crucible) joins the cast as Isobel, Charwoman and others, while Nitai Levi (As You Like It) plays the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Making their professional debut, Kiah Lindsay will perform as Little Fan, Martha and other roles. Mel Lowe (A Doll’s House) returns to play Jack, and Ian Midlane (Written on the Heart) stars as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Ryan O’Donnell (Joan) plays Bob Cratchit and Young Ebenezer, while Anthony Ofoegbu (Barbershop Chronicles) takes on the role of Jacob Marley. Adam Price (Kinky Boots) appears as the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Simon Whitaker (The Phantom of the Opera) and Karen Wilkinson (Spend, Spend, Spend) perform as Swings, with Simon also serving as Music Captain. A young company of twelve will perform in rotating groups of four.

The production reunites several cast members with Sheffield Theatres. Aaron Anthony and Mel Lowe previously appeared in A Doll’s House, while Lowe and Wilkinson also performed in Standing at the Sky’s Edge at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

Ryan O’Donnell returns nearly 20 years after his professional debut in Shadow Mouth at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse. Anthony Ofoegbu and Adam Price also return following acclaimed performances in Barbershop Chronicles and Standing at the Sky’s Edge, respectively.

All other cast members make their Sheffield Theatres debut in A Christmas Carol.

The creative team includes Co-Designers Rose Revitt and Kevin Jenkins, Movement Director and Choreographer Aline David, Lighting Designer Richard Howell, Composer and Arranger Matthew Malone, and Sound Designer Gareth Fry.

Natalie Pound joins as Music Supervisor, with Juliet Horsley CDG as Casting Director. Illusions are designed by John Bulleid and Associate Illusion Designer Sam Lupton.

Verity Richards serves as Assistant Director, with wigs, hair and make-up by Campbell Young Associates and managed by Helen Russell. Vocal coaching is provided by Timothy Peters.

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

On a bitter Christmas Eve, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge shuns festive cheer and human kindness, content in his cold, solitary world.

But when the ghost of his former partner warns of a dreadful fate, Scrooge is thrust into a journey through his past, present, and future. As the spirits reveal the consequences of his ways, he must decide whether to embrace change or be doomed to loneliness forever.

Featuring the Sheffield Carols – a choral tradition rooted in the city’s communities – A Christmas Carol promises redemption, heart, and festive spirit in Dickens’ beloved classic.
