The full cast has been announced for the London Palladium summer season of Jesus Christ Superstar, which runs from Saturday 20 June to Saturday 5 September 2026.
Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals has confirmed that the production will be backed by a 19-piece orchestra and will play a limited 11-week engagement at the West End venue.
Sam Ryder will lead the company as Jesus, marking his stage debut, following his previously announced casting earlier this year.
He is joined by Tyrone Huntley, who returns to his Olivier Award-nominated role as Judas Iscariot, alongside Desmonda Cathabel as Mary Magdalene and David Thaxton as Pontius Pilate.
Six performers will share the role of King Herod across the run: Jesse Tyler Ferguson from 20 June to 11 July, Simon Russell Beale from 13 to 25 July, Richard Armitage from 27 July to 1 August, Boy George from 3 to 15 August excluding 8 August, Layton Williams from 17 to 29 August, and Julian Clary from 31 August to 5 September.
Additional principal casting includes Bob Harms as Caiaphas, Matty J as Annas, Billy Nevers as Simon and alternate Judas, and Phil King as Peter.

The production is directed by Tim Sheader with choreography by Drew McOnie and design by Tom Scutt, reuniting the creative team behind the Olivier Award-winning 2016 Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production.
Set during the final days of Jesus’s life and seen through the eyes of Judas, the musical features an iconic rock score including I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.
Jesus Christ Superstar was originally released as a concept album before opening on Broadway in 1971 and later becoming one of the longest-running productions in West End history.
