The Harmony Test Cast (1)

The Harmony Test Cast

The full cast has been announced for the world premiere of Richard Molloy’s The Harmony Test at Hampstead Downstairs from 17 May to 22 June.

Directed by Alice Hamilton the cast features Pearl Chanda (The House of Bernarda Alba, National Theatre; Sea Creatures, Hampstead Theatre); Ian Charleson award winner Bally Gill (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, RSC; Allelujah); Jemima Rooper (One Man, Two Guvnors, National Theatre; Little Shop of Horrors, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre; Lost in Austen); Sandro Rosta who is making his professional debut and Milo Twomey (Winter Solstice, Orange Tree Theatre; Damsel).

‘He says, if we really wanna conceive now, he’s got a little something he can sell me under the counter at a very reasonable price. It will not fail!’

Newlyweds Zoe and Kash are ready to start a family. Zoe wants to take a practical approach: fertility plans, vitamin supplements and a strict diet. Kash, on the other hand, would rather follow the advice of an intriguing man he just met in Holland and Barrett.

Empty-nesters Naomi and Charlie have been living in matrimonial bliss for twenty odd years – or at least they had been according to Charlie. Frustrated and lonely, Naomi heads to the gym in search of a new lease of life. Instead, she finds Rocco – a much younger personal trainer willing to take a hands-on approach to the job…

Richard Molloy’s hilarious comedy explores life’s positives and negatives, from starting families, to ending marriages, and everything that comes in between. The Harmony Test is directed by Alice Hamilton, Hampstead Theatre’s Associate Director and is her second collaboration with Richard Molloy following the hugely successful Olivier Award-nominated Every Day I Make Greatness Happen, which played Hampstead Downstairs in 2018.

The full creative team joining Alice Hamilton is also announced today. The Harmony Test will feature design by Sarah Beaton, lighting design by Jamie Platt and sound design by Harry Blake.

The Harmony Test plays Hampstead Downstairs from 17 May to 22 June. Tickets are on sale now at hampsteadtheatre.com
