The company of Come Fal lIn Love (Credit Craig Sugden)

Full casting has been announced for Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical, the new English musical comedy based on the blockbuster Indian film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The show will make its UK premiere at Manchester Opera House from 29 May to 21 June 2025, with a press night on 4 June 2025 at 7:30pm.

Joining the previously announced Jena Pandya as Simran and Ashley Day as Rog are Irvine Iqbal as Baldev, Kara Lane as Minky, Harveen Mann-Neary as Lajjo, Amonik Melaco as Ben, Millie O’Connell as Cookie, Ankur Sabharwal as Ajit, Kinshuk Sen as Kuljit, and Russell Wilcox as Rog Sr.

The ensemble cast includes Erica-Jayne Alden, Tash Bacarese-Hamilton, Scarlett Behl, Sophie Camble, Gabrielle Cocca, Rohan Dhupar, Joe Django, Alexander Emery, Kuldeep Goswami, Ella Grant, Yasmin Harrison, Mohit Mathur, Tom Mussell, Purvi Parmar, Saaj Raja, Manu Sarswat, Garrett Tennant, Sonya Venugopal, and swings Emily Goodenough, Marina Lawrence-Mahrra, and Jordan Maisuria-Wake.

       

Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical is directed by Aditya Chopra, the original director of the record-breaking Hindi film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The musical adaptation features 18 new English songs and celebrates the collision of UK and Indian cultures.

Lead actors Jena Pandya and Ashley Day recently visited the Southwall Gurdwara to seek blessings ahead of rehearsals.

The creative team includes Nell Benjamin (Book and Lyrics), Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani (Music), Rob Ashford (Choreography), Shruti Merchant (Co-Choreography – Indian Dances), Derek McLane (Scenic Design), David Grindrod CDG (Casting), Japhy Weideman (Lighting Design), Tony Gayle (Sound Design), Akhila Krishnan (Video Design), Ted Arthur (Musical Supervisor and Arranger), and Ben Holder (Musical Direction).
