Full casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s critically acclaimed production of Titus Andronicus, which transfers to Hampstead Theatre for a strictly limited London run from 5 September to 11 October 2025.
As previously revealed, Olivier, Tony and BAFTA Award winner Simon Russell Beale reprises the title role. Beale returns to Hampstead following his acclaimed performances in The Invention of Love and Mr Foote’s Other Leg.
Joining him is Ken Nwosu as Aaron. Nwosu’s stage credits include White Noise (Bridge Theatre), An Octoroon and Three Sisters (National Theatre). His screen work includes Black Doves, Killing Eve and Upstart Crow.
Emma Fielding returns to play Marcia Andronicus. Her recent theatre credits include A Suite in Three Keys (Orange Tree), A Museum in Baghdad (RSC) and A Woman of No Importance (West End).
Wendy Kweh reprises her role as Tamora, following appearances in Much Ado About Nothing, The Welkin and The Oresteia (National Theatre).
Letty Thomas returns as Lavinia, with recent credits including As You Like It (RSC) and Strategic Love Play (Soho Theatre).
The cast also includes Jeremy Ang Jones (Demetrius), Max Bennett (Saturninus), Marlowe Chan-Reeves (Chiron), Danny Collins (Martius / Messenger), Maximus Evans (Quintus / Aemilius), Thomas Josling (Bassianus / Publius), Joel MacCormack (Lucius), Jerone Marsh-Reid (Alarbus / Leader of the Goths), and Sharita Oomeer (Nurse / Goth). The role of young Lucius will be shared by Charlie Banks and Osian Salter.
Directed by Max Webster, this bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s bloodiest play explores themes of vengeance and violence through a contemporary lens. Webster’s recent credits include Macbeth (Harold Pinter / Donmar Warehouse), Henry V (Donmar), and The Importance of Being Earnest (National Theatre). His production of Life of Pi won five Olivier and three Tony Awards.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Joanna Scotcher, lighting designer Lee Curan, sound designer Tingying Dong, composer Matthew Herbert, musical director Benjamin Kwasi Burrell, movement director Jade Hackett, fight and intimacy directors Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown, voice coach Barbara Houseman, casting director Matthew Dewsbury CDG, and children’s casting director Debbie O’Brien. The revival director is Kwame Owusu.
