Full casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour and limited West End season of the original award-winning production of Billy Elliot The Musical.
Leading the company are Annette McLaughlin as Mrs Wilkinson, Deka Walmsley as Dad, Jack Bandeira as Tony and Lesley Joseph as Grandma.
McLaughlin previously played Mrs Wilkinson on the last UK and Ireland tour of the musical and returns to one of the production’s most iconic roles. Walmsley reprises his acclaimed performance as Dad, having previously starred in both the original West End production and Billy Elliot the Musical Live.
Bandeira joins the company following a string of screen roles including Blade Runner 2099, Smoggie Queens, Andor, Black Mirror, Lockwood & Co. and Happy Valley. Joseph, best known to television audiences as Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather, brings extensive musical theatre experience, including appearances in The Addams Family, Annie, Young Frankenstein, Sister Act The Musical and Calendar Girls.
The company also features Tanesha Aba, Marc Akinfolarin, Natasha J Barnes, Robbie Boyle, Lydia Bradd, Jack Bromage, Jennifer Caldwell, Alex Christian, Adam Crossley, Natalie Durkin, Nathan Elwick, Ian Gareth-Jones, Shirley Jameson, Jenny Legg, Jay Luca Allan, Charlie R Miller, Lewis Mortier, Perry O’Dea, Matt Overfield, Mark Pearce, Aidan Stuart and Lucy Warway.
Joining the previously announced Billys are Noah Mannion, Rafferty Smale, Spencer Collins and William Gurney, who will share the title role. Original Billy Elliot star Liam Mower will appear as Older Billy.
The role of Michael will be shared by Harper Etienne, Dalton Jones, Theo Kamande and Oisin-Luca Pegg, while Lola Cant, Paige Cook and Scarlett Gardener will alternate as Debbie.
The production opens at Sunderland Empire on 4 November 2026 before visiting Manchester’s Palace Theatre and Edinburgh Playhouse.
It will then return to the West End for the first time in more than a decade, playing a limited season at the Adelphi Theatre from 12 February to 31 July 2027.
New tour dates announced today include Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, the Alhambra in Bradford and Bristol Hippodrome, extending the tour into February 2028.
Based on the acclaimed film of the same name, Billy Elliot The Musical follows a young boy growing up during the 1984-85 miners’ strike who discovers a passion for dance that transforms his future and inspires those around him.
Since premiering in London, the musical has been seen by more than 12 million people worldwide and has won over 85 awards internationally, including ten Tony Awards and five Olivier Awards.
Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry and choreography by Peter Darling, the production reunites the creative team behind the celebrated stage adaptation.
