Wendi Peters will reprise her acclaimed role as Florence Foster Jenkins in the 20th anniversary UK tour of Glorious!, launching in February 2026.
The Hope Mill Theatre production of Peter Quilter’s hit comedy will tour the UK following its successful run in Manchester earlier this year.
Glorious! originally premiered in the West End in 2005, earning an Olivier Award nomination and later inspiring the film starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
The play tells the true story of American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, dubbed “the worst singer in the world,” whose off-key performances and flamboyant costumes made her a cult figure.
Wendi Peters, best known for her role as Cilla Battersby in Coronation Street, returns to the role after receiving rave reviews in Manchester.
She said: “I’m so thrilled to be visiting Florence again, and to bring Glorious! to all the beautiful theatres around the UK in 2026. It’s fun, heartbreaking but, above all, glorious!!”
Peters’ extensive stage credits include Sister Act, BIG The Musical, White Christmas, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. On screen, she has appeared in Doctors, Midsomer Murders, and Hetty Feather.
The production is directed by Kirk Jameson, with musical supervision by Nick Barstow and set and costume design by Ingrid Hu.
Further casting and creatives are to be announced.
Glorious! is presented by Thomas Hopkins, Craig Haffer, and Sherry Wright, with casting by Harry Blumenau CDG CDA, lighting by Mike Robertson, and sound design by Mark Goggins.
