Based in the heart of London’s West End, Go Live Theatre Projects (formerly Mousetrap Theatre Projects) has been a staple of the theatrical community since it was founded in 1997. This vital theatre education charity has spent the last 27 years dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through theatre. Go Live Theatre Projects continues to help make theatre accessible to young people through educational programmes in schools, work with low-income families, youth groups, and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Last year, they teamed up with a host of 10 Ambassadors, comprised of West End performers, creatives and influencers within the theatre industry, who worked alongside our longstanding Patrons to help us spread the word of our work to young theatregoers.
Today, they announce the new Ambassadors joining them for the year 2024: Allie Daniel, Gracie McGonigal, Jack White, and Joseph Fletcher. Staying on from the previous year are Georgina Onuorah, Hannah Lowther, Joel Montague, Lucie Jones, Philip Joel and Rob Madge.
“Go Live helped provide me with some of my earliest experiences of live theatre. To now be asked to be an ambassador for them is genuinely an honour”. – Georgina Onuorah (currently playing Angelica Schyler in the West End production of Hamilton)
These Ambassadors will champion and promote our programmes such as our subsidised theatregoing club for young people, our relaxed performances, our bespoke theatregoing experiences for blind/visually impaired and D/deaf/hard of hearing young people and our Family First Nights project, among others, and will also take part in upcoming events for our charity throughout the year.
Trans Actor Allie Daniel is currently a teacher of vocal technique at The Urdang Academy, as well as performing as one of ‘The Fates’ in the Original West End cast of Hadestown, Lyric Theatre.
Autistic Theatre Content Creator Jack White is committed to sharing sensory tips and access information for theatre shows he visits via social media. After attending our Relaxed Performance of Wicked in June, he made a wonderful TikTok video about his experience which now has over a million views.
Disabled Actor Gracie McGonigal, who just finished her run in The Little Big Things, @sohoplace, recently won the “Watch This Face Award” at the 2024 BOLT Awards (Best of London Theatre). The BOLT Awards are theatre awards created by Go Live Theatre Projects’ brilliant Youth Forum members, who also organise and host the Awards Ceremony. The winners of the BOLT Awards were voted on by over 1,000 young theatregoers.
D/deaf / Hard of Hearing Actor Joseph Fletcher was recently the Associate Choreographer of The Little Big Things at @sohoplace. As an actor he has been in the original cast of 101 Dalmatians, Regent Park Open Air Theatre, Wicked, Apollo Victoria and many more shows.
