David Hunter and Grace Mouat have been announced as the latest stars to join the cast of 13 Going on 30 The Musical, which makes its world premiere at Manchester Opera House from 21 September 2025.

Hunter will take on the role of Matt Flamhaff, while Mouat will play Lucy Wyman in this brand-new stage adaptation of the beloved 2004 rom-com.

David Hunter is best known for his acclaimed performances in Kinky Boots, Waitress, and Once. He was nominated for Best Performer in a Male Identifying Role in a Musical in 2020 for his portrayal of Dr. Pomatter in Waitress.

Grace Mouat has wowed audiences in SIX, & Juliet, and The Great British Bake-Off Musical. She was recently nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for her role as Karen in Mean Girls.

They join the previously announced Lucie Jones as Jenna Rink, alongside a stellar cast including Caleb Roberts, Andrew Berlin, Dominic Andersen, Ross Dawes, Suzie McAdam, and Iván Fernández Gonzáles.

The musical features songs by Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary (First Date, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) and is directed by Andy Fickman (Heathers, She’s The Man).

The creative team includes choreographer Jennifer Weber, set designer Colin Richmond, musical supervisor Alan Williams, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Adam Fisher, and video designer George Reeve.

Costume design is by Gabriela Tylesova, with wigs, hair and make-up by Sam Cox. Casting is by Will Burton, with children’s casting by Keston & Keston. Musical direction is by Amy Shackcloth, and production management by Simon Gooding and Matt Jones.

13 Going on 30 The Musical is produced by ROYO, Revolution Studios, Wendy Federman, and Phil Kenny, with executive producer Jennifer Garner.
