Theatre Channel has announced the worldwide digital release of Great Expectations, in partnership with Beckman Unicorn. Streaming begins today, 1st December 2025, marking a historic moment as it coincides with the date the first chapter of Charles Dickens’ novel was originally published in 1860.
Graham McLaren’s lavish and theatrical production brings Jo Clifford’s acclaimed adaptation to life, creating a haunting Gothic atmosphere for audiences everywhere. Pip’s journey from humble beginnings to the making of a gentleman unfolds with emotional power and vivid memory.
The story introduces some of Dickens’ most iconic characters — Estella, Miss Havisham, Magwitch and Jaggers — alongside a rich ensemble of comic and eccentric figures that have captivated audiences for generations.

Directed by Graham McLaren, the production features set design by Robin Peoples, costumes by Annie Gosney and Graham McLaren, lighting by Kai Fischer, original music by Simon Slater and sound by Matt McKenzie. Estella’s couture gowns were created in collaboration with Giovanni Bedin for House of Worth.
