The Hazlitt Theatre will be producing it’s first online concert featuring local songwriting talent including Tom Self, Clea Llewellyn and Darren Clark at 7.30pm Friday 19th March.

Self will be familiar to many as the Musical Director of the highly successful Hazlitt Theatre Pantomime. Singer songwriter Llewellyn is a local songwriter whose songs have aired on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 as well as touring internationally and Darren Clark, is the locally based Composer & Lyricist of the acclaimed musical The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

These talented performers, all from very different backgrounds will be playing some of their favourite songs and talking a little bit about their experience in the industry and what led them to writing and performing in an evening curated by The Hazlitt.

General Manager of The Hazlitt Theatre Martin Cleverley said: “We can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the theatre and we have a great schedule of shows planned with something for everyone. But, in the meantime, we wanted to offer our audiences something a little different. The Hazlitt Theatre have teamed up with three wonderful local artists to bring an evening of live music from the Hazlitt stage direct to their homes.”

Darren Clark, Composer & Lyricist said: “This is such a lovely opportunity for writers to connect with our local audience and the Hazlitt is the perfect venue for it, as was proved by the recent Save the Hazlitt Campaign, The Hazlitt is certainly one of the centre-pieces of Maidstone’s cultural life.
