A fresh and funny take on modern love is hitting UK stages this summer as I Met All My Friends on Dating Apps embarks on a three-city tour from 12 June to 18 July 2025.

Written and performed by Jess Andrews, this autobiographical solo show blends puppetry, spoken word, and storytelling to explore the realities of polyamory with humour and heart.

Created in response to the often overdramatic portrayals of non-monogamy in mainstream media, I Met All My Friends on Dating Apps offers a candid and deeply personal look at Andrews’ first year navigating open relationships.

From disastrous dates re-enacted with sock puppets to tender moments of unexpected intimacy, the show invites audiences to reconsider what love and connection can truly mean.

“It was important to me to give an unexaggerated narrative of polyamory, so that non-monogamous folk see their experiences reflected and validated, and in turn might be inspired to share their own stories,” said Jess Andrews.

“Common representations of polyamory tend to diminish the richness and nuance of the non-monogamous relationships that I see around me. While parts of the show will feel familiar to anyone who has been on a dating app, I hope that while monogamous audiences laugh with me, they also gain a different perspective on how we can experience love.”

Directed and dramaturged by Katie Overstall, the production also features sound design by Rob Sear. The show runs for 60 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 18 and over.

The tour opens at The Lantern Theatre in Brighton with a press night on Friday 13 June, before heading to the Town and Gown Theatre in Cambridge and concluding at The Alma Tavern & Theatre in Bristol.
