First look rehearsal images have been released for I’m Every Woman the Musical, offering a preview of the new production ahead of its London premiere and subsequent dates in Coventry and Eastbourne.

The musical, which tells the powerful life story of global icon Chaka Khan, will star Alexandra Burke as Chaka at all venues. Following its limited London season at the Peacock Theatre from 5 to 28 March 2026, the show will run at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry from 1 to 4 April, and at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne from 7 to 11 April.

The rehearsal images provide a first glimpse into the creative process behind the production, which features a book by Nia T. Hill, direction by Racky Plews, musical supervision by Mark Crossland and choreography by Ebony Clarke. Set design is by Sara Perks, sound design by Chris Whybrow, costume design by Natalie Pryce and hair and makeup by JJ Wigs.

The musical charts Chaka Khan’s rise to stardom, celebrating her influence across pop, soul, jazz and funk. It explores her passion for civil rights, challenges within the music industry, her experience of addiction and her journey as a working mother.

Audiences can expect a score packed with Chaka Khan classics, including I Feel for You, Tell Me Something Good, Ain’t Nobody, Sweet Thing, Higher Love and Through the Fire, as well as references to her collaborations with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Steve Winwood.
